Bubbly White Sangria

Widen your cocktail making horizons with this easy to mix Bubbly White Sangria. It’s fruity and easy to drink and probably best for gatherings and large parties since you can make a large batch in one go. Everyone will surely love this fruity and refreshing drink that you can serve at any occasion. Here’s how to make it!

Ingredients:

  • Orange, Lemons, Lime, Grapefruit. Choose a couple of citrus fruits to start off your drink. Any combination from the list will do.

  • Strawberries, blackberries, raspberries, blueberries. Choose a couple of berries to accompany your citrus. If you want a stronger berry taste then feel free to add more than 2 kinds of berries. These can be fresh or frozen.

  • Peaches. These can be fresh, canned, or frozen. As long as they are peeled and cut into slices they are good to go.

  • ¼ cup Peach or apple brandy. If you want to make a stronger drink you can opt to use regular brandy.

  • ¼ cup Triple sec, Amaretto, or Spiced rum. Choose whichever is your favorite or what you already have at home.

  • White Wine. Pinot Grigio, Chenin Blanc, or Sauvignon Blanc is recommended.

  • Prosecco or sparkling water. If you want a more boozy mix then use Prosecco or sparkling wine. However, if you want something more mellow you may use sparkling water.

  • A large pitcher for a small to medium group, or a glass cocktail dispenser if you are having a party.

For garnish you may use fresh mint leaves, a few berries, or some citrus slices. If you are feeling fancy then use all three!

Directions:

  1. Slice up your choice of citrus fruits. You may also slice some of the berries if they are larger in size. Separate some of these for the garnish.

  2. Add all your chosen fruit and your choice of liqueurs into the pitcher. Stir well.

  3. Add in your white wine and stir again.

  4. Place the pitcher in the refrigerator for a couple of hours or until ready to serve.

  5. When ready to serve, fill a glass with ice and pour in some of the sangria mix.

  6. Top up the glass with Prosecco or sparkling water.

  7. Add your choice of garnish and serve.

Tips and tricks:

  • If you are serving this during an outdoor event or if you are creating this in a warm climate, you may freeze your citrus and berry garnish before using it. This will help keep the drink cold along with the ice.

  • You can play around with the sangria mixture in terms of flavor. You do not have to follow the exact fruits listed if you don’t want to. For example, you could create a purely berry mixture. You can even muddle some of the berries before adding the wine to create a Berry Sangria. You may also use whatever fruits are in season. For example, you can switch out the peaches or citrus for grapes, mango, pineapple, kiwi or apples. The variations are quite endless.

  • If you feel that the sangria mixture needs a little sweetness, you may add a couple tablespoons of sugar or a drizzle of honey to the fruit and liquor mixture (before adding the wine). Just make sure it is well incorporated before moving onto the next step.

  • When creating for a large batch or party, just double all the measurements and ingredients.
