NEWS: Hong Kong Offers Extra Tourism Perks to Summer Eventgoers

Visitors attending some of Hong Kong’s biggest summer events can enjoy extra savings on hotels, dining, attractions and shopping, as the city steps up efforts to encourage event-led tourism.

The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) is offering eligible event ticket holders an additional 5% discount at more than 100 participating hotels and attractions across the city through 31 August 2026.

The promotion covers a range of experiences, including hotel dining, attraction admissions, souvenirs and selected merchandise. There is no limit on the number of times an eligible ticket can be used during the promotional period, giving visitors more opportunities to take advantage of the offers throughout their stay.

Events included in the initiative span sports, entertainment and cultural experiences. They include the Hong Kong Football Festival 2026, Cats The Musical, and Ancient Egypt Unveiled: Treasures from Egyptian Museums at the Hong Kong Palace Museum.

Music fans attending the 2026 TMElive International Music Awards can also participate, with the event set to feature major performers including Taeyong, Super Junior, Stray Kids and Charlie Puth.

To redeem the discounts, visitors must present a valid physical or electronic event ticket at participating outlets. Screenshots, photographs and photocopies of tickets will not be accepted.

The HKTB said the initiative aims to turn major events into a broader tourism experience by encouraging visitors to explore more of Hong Kong beyond the event venue. By connecting event attendance with dining, attractions and shopping, the programme is also intended to spread visitor spending across the wider tourism and hospitality sector.

The promotion highlights Hong Kong’s growing focus on event-led tourism, using major sporting, cultural and entertainment events to attract visitors while encouraging them to stay longer and experience more of the city.
