NEWS: Oman Air Launches Non-Stop Flights Between Muscat and Singapore

Four-times-weekly service strengthens connectivity between the Middle East and Southeast Asia.

Oman Air has officially resumed operations in Singapore with the launch of a new non-stop service between Muscat and Singapore, marking a significant milestone in the airline's regional expansion strategy.

The inaugural flight departed on 2 July 2026, re-establishing a direct air link between the Sultanate of Oman and Singapore after several years of absence. The new route will operate four times a week, providing travelers with a convenient eight-hour journey between the two cities.

The service is operated using a Boeing 737 MAX narrow-body aircraft configured with 162 seats, including 12 business class seats and 150 economy class seats. The direct connection is expected to serve both business and leisure travelers while enhancing trade and tourism between the Middle East and Southeast Asia.

Passengers flying on the route will also benefit from Oman Air's membership in the Oneworld Alliance, allowing eligible travelers to earn and redeem frequent flyer miles across partner airlines, access premium airport lounges, and enjoy a range of alliance benefits throughout the global network.

The launch also marks Oman Air's return to the Singapore market. The airline previously operated flights between Muscat and Singapore with a stopover in Kuala Lumpur before discontinuing the service nine years ago.

Speaking in an interview with The Straits Times, Oman Air Chief Executive Officer Con Korfiatis said the new non-stop service reflects the airline's renewed commitment to expanding its presence in Asia and improving connectivity for passengers traveling between the Gulf region and Southeast Asia.

Looking ahead, the airline plans to continue growing its Asian network. According to Korfiatis, Oman Air is expected to announce another new direct destination in the region within the next 12 months as part of its broader expansion strategy.

Among the markets under consideration are China, Japan, and South Korea, which the airline has identified as key growth opportunities. Expanding into these destinations would further strengthen Oman Air's presence in Asia while providing travelers with additional direct connections through its Muscat hub.

The new Singapore route underscores Oman Air's efforts to enhance its international network, capitalize on rising demand for long-haul travel, and position Muscat as an increasingly important gateway linking the Middle East with Asia.
