NEWS: Singapore Airlines Boosts Adelaide to Record 12 Weekly Flights as China Southern Goes Daily

Singapore Airlines (SIA) will significantly expand its services to Adelaide by increasing flight frequencies to a record 12 flights per week beginning 25 October 2026, marking the highest year-round frequency ever operated by an international airline to South Australia's capital.

The expanded schedule underscores Singapore Airlines' continued commitment to the South Australian market and responds to sustained growth in international travel demand. The additional flights will provide passengers with greater flexibility, improved travel options, and enhanced connectivity through Singapore Changi Airport, one of the world's leading international aviation hubs.

The increase will add 1,328 additional seats into Adelaide each week, offering more opportunities for inbound tourism, business travel, education, and trade while strengthening links between South Australia and key destinations across Asia, Europe, and beyond via the Singapore Airlines global network.

The announcement comes as Adelaide continues to experience strong growth in international aviation, with airlines expanding capacity to meet increasing demand. The city has recently welcomed additional services from Cathay Pacific and the launch of China Eastern Airlines' new Shanghai route, further reinforcing Adelaide's position as an emerging international gateway.

Singapore Airlines' Regional Vice President for South West Pacific, Foo Chai Woo, said the expanded schedule reflects the airline's confidence in the Adelaide market and the continued strength of travel demand.

"Our increased services demonstrate the sustained demand for travel to and from Adelaide. By expanding our operations, we are providing customers with greater choice, more convenient travel options, and seamless access to destinations across our extensive global network via Singapore," Foo said.

China Southern Expands Seasonal Services

Complementing Singapore Airlines' announcement, China Southern Airlines will also boost capacity on its Guangzhou–Adelaide route by increasing operations from three weekly flights to daily services between 1 December 2026 and 10 March 2027.

The seasonal expansion will introduce an additional 1,064 seats per week, catering to heightened travel demand during the Northern Hemisphere winter and the Australian summer holiday season.

According to the airline, the increased frequency is expected to support growing leisure travel, business activity, and visits by friends and relatives (VFR). The expansion is also expected to benefit from China's visa-free entry policy for Australian passport holders, which has encouraged greater two-way travel between the two countries.

Nearly 2,400 Additional Weekly Seats

Together, the expanded schedules from Singapore Airlines and China Southern Airlines will inject 2,392 additional seats into Adelaide every week during the peak summer travel period.

The combined capacity increase is expected to:
