NEWS: Taiwan Introduces New Tourism Incentives for Repeat Visitors and Business Events

Taiwan is introducing a new package of tourism incentives from September to encourage international visitors to return, while strengthening support for corporate incentive groups, conference delegates and major entertainment events.

The initiatives include a weekly lottery offering travel credits to eligible repeat visitors, enhanced incentives for overseas companies bringing groups to Taiwan, and additional support for large-scale concerts and flagship events.

Repeat visitors eligible for weekly travel-credit lottery

From October, independent international travelers who have previously visited Taiwan will have the opportunity to win NT$5,000 (approximately US$156) in travel credits. One accompanying traveler may also receive an additional NT$3,000.

The program is open to foreign passport holders who do not hold Taiwan residency and who have visited Taiwan at least once since January 1, 2023. Eligible travelers must stay in Taiwan for between three and 90 days.

Registration will open at 10 a.m on October 1, 2026. Travelers must register between seven and 90 days before their scheduled arrival.

The incentive applies to eligible arrivals between October 10, 2026, and March 31, 2027. Winning credits can be loaded onto selected local stored-value cards at 7-Eleven stores and used at participating merchants across Taiwan.

Enhanced incentives for groups and major events

Taiwan is also expanding support for international business events, including incentive travel groups organized by overseas companies and organizations.

Groups staying at licensed accommodation in Taichung and destinations south of Hualien, as well as in Taitung and Taiwan’s outlying islands, between October 10, 2026, and March 31, 2027, may receive an additional NT$1,000 per person per night, up to a maximum of NT$4,000 per person.

The additional support is available on top of existing incentive travel programs, which provide eligible groups with between NT$20,000 and NT$150,000 per group for qualifying shorter programs. Longer programs may qualify for support ranging from NT$400 to NT$800 per traveler, depending on group size and program requirements.

Applications for group incentives must be submitted at least 15 days before the group’s arrival.

Support for concerts and flagship entertainment events

The Tourism Administration is also increasing support for internationally recognized concerts and flagship entertainment events as part of broader efforts to strengthen Taiwan’s appeal as a destination for large-scale events.

The measures are intended to attract more international visitors while encouraging repeat travel and supporting the growth of business events, incentive travel and entertainment tourism.

With the new incentives covering individual travelers as well as corporate and event groups,

Taiwan is positioning the upcoming autumn and winter travel period as an opportunity to attract a wider range of international visitors and events.
