Travellers between Singapore and Down Under can now expect quicker, more comfortable flights, thanks to new optimized flight paths on key routes.

Singapore Airlines, Air New Zealand, and other carriers are already using these advanced routes to cities including Adelaide, Brisbane, Cairns, Melbourne, Sydney, Christchurch, and Auckland. Known as user-preferred routing (UPR), these paths help pilots avoid turbulence, shorten flight times, and cut fuel consumption.
The initiative follows a successful 15-month trial across six participating countries. Airlines say the benefits go beyond speed and comfort, fuel savings could lower operational costs, with potential savings passed on to passengers.
With more routes set to adopt optimized paths, travellers can look forward to faster, smoother, and greener journeys between Singapore and Australia and New Zealand.
