Tokyo’s Iconic ‘Lost in Translation’ Hotel Reopens After Extensive Restoration Debut of Girandole, by Alain Ducasse, Marks a New Era for Park Hyatt Tokyo

The renovation, planned over four years in collaboration with Paris-based design studio Jouin Manku, modernizes guestrooms, public spaces, and dining venues while honoring the original design vision of architect Kenzo Tange and interior designer John Morford. Located on the upper 14 floors of Shinjuku Park Tower, Park Hyatt Tokyo remains one of the city’s most recognizable luxury landmarks.

Refreshed Guestrooms

All 171 guestrooms and suites have been redesigned with contemporary layouts, warmer materials, and expanded wet-room style bathrooms. Guests will experience a curated display of contemporary Japanese art, alongside iconic elements such as Isamu Noguchi’s washi lamps.

New and Revitalized Dining Experiences

Park Hyatt Tokyo unveils Girandole by Alain Ducasse, a French brasserie-style restaurant created in partnership with the Ducasse Paris Group.

Other refreshed spaces include:

  • The Peak Lounge & Bar – featuring renewed bamboo landscaping and a reimagined cocktail program highlighting ingredients sourced from six Japanese prefectures.

  • New York Grill & Bar – restored to its original aesthetic and updated with new menu selections and fine wines, located on the 52nd floor.

  • Delicatessen – scheduled to reopen in March 2026 following further refurbishment.

Wellness and Fitness

Club On The Park, the hotel’s spa and fitness facility, continues to offer its pool, Technogym equipment, and treatment rooms, complemented by new seasonal treatments and spa programs.

A Legacy of Luxury

Since opening in 1994 as Asia’s first Park Hyatt property, Park Hyatt Tokyo has been celebrated for its timeless elegance and cultural significance. This restoration ensures the hotel continues to offer an unparalleled luxury experience while embracing modern design and contemporary Japanese artistry.
