Hawksmoor, the acclaimed steakhouse group, has announced ambitious expansion plans across the UK and the US, with several new restaurant openings under consideration for 2026 and beyond.
The group, which currently operates 10 restaurants in the UK (including seven in London), as well as sites in New York, Chicago, and Dublin, reported turnover of £100.4 million for the year ending 31 December 2024. This represents an 11.8% increase from the previous year’s £89.8 million, driven by record-breaking sales and profitability across its estate.
Underlying EBITDA rose by 7.6% to £9.9 million (2023: £9.2m), adjusted for the initial start-up losses at the newly launched Chicago restaurant. Despite this, the group recorded a pre-tax loss of £1.7 million, compared to a profit of £1.5 million in 2023, due to significant investment in new openings and refinancing activities.
Hawksmoor CFO, Alex McLauchlan, commented:
“The group has built an industry-leading brand with highly profitable sites, strong cash generation, and an excellent reputation with both customers and staff. These foundations position Hawksmoor for continued long-term success.”
The company invested £7.79 million in fixed assets during the year, the majority of which related to the Chicago launch, alongside a refinancing of external bank debt in June 2024.
With restaurants trading at record levels and a proven international appeal, Hawksmoor is well-positioned to continue its growth story on both sides of the Atlantic.
