Langham Hospitality Group Appoints Nick Downing as General Manager of The Langham, Custom House, Bangkok

Langham Hospitality Group (LHG) is pleased to announce the appointment of Nick Downing as General Manager of The Langham, Custom House, Bangkok, marking a pivotal step in the lead-up to the highly anticipated opening of the riverside hotel in late 2026.
A seasoned hotelier with more than 30 years of experience, Downing brings an exceptional track record in managing and positioning luxury properties across Southeast Asia, Australia, and the Indian Ocean. Most recently, he served as General Manager of The Siam in Bangkok, where he steered the hotel to global acclaim, securing a spot on the World’s 50 Best Hotels list and achieving a Michelin three-key rating.
Downing’s prior leadership roles include senior positions with Minor Hotel Group, where he oversaw a portfolio of 12 properties, as well as tenures at W Retreat Koh Samui and Per Aquum Hotels & Resorts. He will report directly to Sherona Shng, Regional Vice President – Operations, Asia, Langham Hospitality Group.

Situated in the heart of Bangkok’s Bang Rak District, The Langham, Custom House, Bangkok is being developed by Rabbit Holdings, a subsidiary of BTS Group. The 78-key luxury hotel will be anchored by the meticulously restored historic Custom House building along the Chao Phraya River.
Signature offerings will include a Bangkok outpost of T’ang Court – the famed three-Michelin-star Cantonese restaurant from The Langham, Hong Kong – a destination bar, and a specialty venue celebrating the art of pastry.
