NEWS: Disney Adventure Adds Langkawi to Select Singapore Cruises

A Disney cruise from Singapore is getting a major itinerary upgrade, with passengers soon able to trade a day at sea for beaches, rainforest and island adventures in Langkawi.

For anyone who thinks a Disney cruise means staying aboard from beginning to end, the Disney Adventure has a new surprise in store. Disney Cruise Line is adding Langkawi, Malaysia, as a new port of call on selected four-night sailings from Singapore, beginning 31 December 2026.

And the timing is interesting: the tropical island will appear on Day Three of selected cruises, creating a very different kind of Disney vacation.

One day you're enjoying the ship. The next, you're exploring one of Southeast Asia's most famous islands. Then it's back to the magic at sea.

A Disney Cruise With a Tropical Detour

Langkawi is known for its beaches, rainforest and spectacular natural attractions, and Disney Cruise Line plans to offer shore excursions designed around nature, family activities, culture and local crafts. That means passengers won't necessarily have to choose between a traditional Disney cruise and a Southeast Asian getaway. They can get a little of both.

The cruise line says the addition is intended to give guests greater choice while preserving the onboard experiences that are central to the Disney Adventure.

In short, the ship isn't changing its identity. It's simply giving passengers a reason to get off it.

What Will You Do in Langkawi?

Disney Cruise Line's Port Adventures will offer different ways to experience Langkawi, with independent third-party operators providing excursions across a range of interests and price points.

Nature lovers can look toward outdoor experiences. Families can choose activities designed to keep everyone entertained. And travelers interested in the destination itself can explore its culture and local crafts. Or there's always Option Four: Stay on the Disney ship.

Passengers who don't want to disembark will still have access to selected dining venues, entertainment and activities while the ship is in port. So nobody has to give up their Disney day just because everyone else wants an island adventure.

Guests can make reservations through the cruise line's My Reservations portal or the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app.

There is also an onboard option at the Port Adventures Counter, although availability will be limited and bookings will be handled on a first-come, first-served basis. For popular excursions, that could make advance planning particularly worthwhile.

And if this is Disney Cruise Line testing the waters for more regional ports, Langkawi may turn out to be only the beginning.
