Travel to South Korea’s popular resort island of Jeju will soon become significantly easier for international visitors as non-stop flights between Seoul’s Incheon International Airport and Jeju are set to relaunch in April.

The route, which was suspended a decade ago, previously required most international travelers arriving at Incheon to transfer to Gimpo Airport in Seoul before continuing on a one-hour domestic flight to Jeju. The additional transfer often led to longer travel times and inconvenience for visitors navigating immigration procedures and city traffic.
With the restoration of the Incheon–Jeju connection, travelers will be able to book seamless itineraries that allow them to arrive at and depart from the same airport, streamlining the journey and improving overall travel efficiency.
Air services on the route are expected to gradually scale up as demand increases from both international and domestic travelers.
Jeju continues to attract visitors from across the globe. Chinese travelers represent the island’s largest inbound market, followed by visitors from Japan, Taiwan, the United States, and Southeast Asia.
Local tour operators anticipate that the improved accessibility will help revive large incentive groups and packaged tours to the island, while also encouraging long-haul international travelers to include Jeju in multi-destination itineraries.
In preparation for the expected rise in arrivals, local government authorities are developing measures to manage visitor flows and promote sustainable tourism. Planned initiatives include encouraging travel during shoulder seasons, highlighting lesser-known destinations across the island, and implementing eco-certification programs for accommodations and tour operators.
The relaunch of the Incheon–Jeju route marks a significant step in strengthening connectivity to one of South Korea’s most iconic travel destinations while supporting sustainable growth in the region’s tourism industry.
