Park Hyatt Tokyo to Reopen on December 9 Following 18-Month Transformation

Park Hyatt Tokyo, the iconic luxury hotel immortalized in Sofia Coppola’s 2003 film Lost in Translation, is set to welcome guests once again on December 9, 2025, following an extensive 18-month restoration.

The landmark property, which first opened in 1994 as Asia’s inaugural Park Hyatt hotel, closed its doors in May 2024 to undergo a comprehensive refresh led by the Paris-based design studio Jouin Manku.

The restoration places particular emphasis on the guest rooms, which now feature reimagined interiors highlighted by natural materials, including marble and wood accents in the bathrooms, bringing a renewed sense of warmth and refinement.

The hotel’s celebrated dining venues will also reopen, including the world-renowned New York Grill & Bar on the 52nd floor, the elegant Japanese restaurant Kozue, and the French brasserie Girandole by Alain Ducasse. While each space has been carefully enhanced, the restaurants retain their original spirit and timeless appeal.

“Park Hyatt Tokyo has always stood as a beacon of understated luxury and cultural significance,” said [Insert Spokesperson Name, Title]. “This restoration ensures that the hotel continues to inspire and delight guests for generations to come.”

With its reopening, Park Hyatt Tokyo reaffirms its position as one of the world’s most distinctive luxury hotels, blending design, gastronomy, and hospitality in the heart of Shinjuku.
