PHILBEX, TLEX, IFBEX - ILOILO

A triple convention all in one place! That is what took place at the Iloilo Convention Center from July 13 to 16. In just 4,299SQM they were able to bring together three different industries for the public to wander around and explore.

The event started with a very warm welcome from the Ilonggos. The guests were greeted with a vibrant ethnic dance accompanied with a percussion band as the doors opened. Although the weather was a little gloomy that morning and it eventually started to pour, the energy at the convention was still very positive and energetic.

When it came to the registration, it was pretty seamless. If you pre-registered online then it was just a quick scan of your QR code and off you go. You could also register onsite which didn’t take up much time at all. They also give you a free reusable bag with the event’s design which is a handy freebie since you’ll be collecting many leaflets and brochures once inside.

You can go around the whole area in one morning or one afternoon. However, if you are going to stop and chat at various stands, you could easily spend a whole day there. The place was split up into sections. On the far left was the PHILBEX section filled with various brands and companies to choose from when it comes to building a house, renovation, equipment, and more. On the far right was the IFBEX section which has food and beverage equipment, systems, packaging, and edible products. Lastly, roughly in the middle was the TLEX section. There were booths for many different resorts and vacation spots from all around the country. It wasn’t just centered around Iloilo which was nice. There was variety and many choices and booths to explore and get to know. There were also travel agencies which were promoting domestic as well as international travel.

There were other activities aside from just the convention itself. Just outside the entrance there were some interior design setups from design firms showcasing their skills. On the second floor there were meeting rooms where product presentations and talks were being held. While on the main lobby stage there were also various activities and competitions held throughout the days. From latte art to cake decorating and even a fruit and vegetable carving competition. There was much to see and every day there was something new to watch and learn.

The convention was not just for industry professionals or business owners but also for students and regular people alike. Whether you were looking for something specific to do with the industries being highlighted for those four days, or you were simply curious and just wanted to take a look, it was definitely worth it. These conventions happen often around the country so if you were not able to attend any this year so far, don’t fret, there are more conventions before the year is out. All it takes is a quick online search and you’ll probably find there’s a convention happening in a city near you!
