Sheridan’s New Restaurant

Cozy rustic restaurant with brick walls, wooden tables, wicker lights. A chef is seen in the kitchen. Large windows, warm atmosphere.

Chef Andrew Sheridan’s Open Restaurant Group (ORG) will relaunch the former Native site in Worcester, UK.

In its new guise, the restaurant—located within the Netherwood Estate and with its own kitchen garden—will remain focused on farm-to-fork fine dining.

Sheridan and head chef Curtis Winstone, whose CV includes Da Terra in London and Lucknam Park near Bath, will lead the new restaurant, Sow.

Headed by chef Ivan Tisdall Downes, Native closed early last month after less than one year of trading. Sheridan will be the fourth high-profile chef to attempt to make the remote 36- cover restaurant work.

The site was launched by Lee Westcott as Pensons in 2019.

Westcott left soon after attracting a Michelin star to be replaced by Chris Simpson.

In late 2023, then-Pensons owner Peta Darnley announced the restaurant would close due to 'relentless inflationary pressure. '

Shortly after, it was taken over by Native, which was at the time backed by Andrew Fishwick's restaurant investment outfit, Hestia Hospitality!

The acquisition brings the number of restaurants owned by ORG—which is run by Sheridan and his business partners, Sam and Emma Morgan—to eight.

This includes Sheridan's flagship restaurant 8 by Andrew Sheridan in Liverpool, OXA in The Wirral, and Dishes in Prestatyn.

Other ORG restaurants include The Bracebridge in Sutton Coldfield and Black & Green and Cofton on the Green in Barnt Green, Worcestershire. ORG recently announced it is looking to launch a restaurant in Dubai.

A spokesperson for the Netherwood Estate added: ''We are really looking forward to welcoming ORG to the Netherwood Estate and we wish them all the best with the reopening of the restaurant and rooms."
