Sweet And Salty Cold Brew

Juan Nita

Cold Brew Coffee

Ingredients:

  • 6 cups of water

  • 2 cups of coffee grounds

  • Caramel syrup

  • ½ cup whole milk

  • ½ cup heavy cream

  • 2 tablespoons of sugar

  • pinch of salt

  • ice

Directions:

  1. To make the cold brew, combine the coffee grounds and water in a pitcher or container. Stir well and refrigerate overnight.

  2.  In a large bowl or container pour the ground coffee mixture through a fine mesh sieve with a coffee filter.

  3. Pour it gradually until you have a pure cold brew without any coffee ground debris. Store it in the fridge until you are ready to use it.

  4. To create the cold foam take a bowl and combine the milk, heavy cream, sugar, and salt. Whip it all together at a high speed until it turns into foam.

  5. Assemble your drink by filling a large glass with ice and pouring 1 cup of cold brew into the glass.

  6. Add as much or as little caramel syrup as you would like.

  7. Top your drink with the cold foam mixture and serve.

Notes:

  • You may adjust the amount of salt and sugar you use when making the cold foam if you want it to be more sweet or salty.

  • If you do not have caramel syrup you can create your own by heating up around ½ a cup of sugar and 2 tablespoons of water on low heat. Cook and stir it until the sugar has fully dissolved and then increase the heat for a few minutes until the caramel forms and has a brownish color.  When it’s cooked, you can add a little more water to loosen the mixture, then store it in a container, and refrigerate until it is ready to be used.

  • If caramel syrup is not to your taste you can opt to use other syrups and flavors to customize your drink.
