The event is all about gin. And so, of course, this is your chance to explore and learn everything you can about gin. The festival boasts of having over 45 kinds of gins. Tastings are also unlimited, which is a great opportunity to sample different ones until you find the one for you.

The people behind the bar and booths will also happily answer any questions you may have, and they can tell you about all the details of their brand and gin. From where it’s made, how it’s made, infusions, the history and ideas behind it, and what cocktails you can make. There’s a wealth of information to be taken in, but in an enjoyable and low-pressure environment.

After exploring all the different brands and types of gin there are, you will surely find one that you’ll want to take home. You’ll be exposed to not only brands that are more well-known, but also new and upcoming ones.

From international names to locally made gins, some infused, and some made with innovative methods and ingredients. Something will eventually capture your full attention at some point during the evening. When you do find something that you like, you can purchase a bottle during the event. There’s much fun to be had when going from booth to booth. Aside from sampling the gins or acquiring a unique or funky cocktail, there are also games and freebies to be collected. Some brands had giveaways ready for you to take home after you showed a little support by either interacting with their social media pages or filling out a quick survey. It doesn’t matter if you’re not very great at games; everyone is a winner during this festival. The booths can be quite generous when it comes to the free merchandise and little knick-knacks that all add to the overall enjoyment of the evening. 

4. Make Some New Friends and Network

During the Manila Gin Festival, there will be people from all sorts of backgrounds. If you happen to work in the food and beverage industry, you can definitely network and make friends with the representatives or sometimes even the owners of the brands that are participating in the event. If not, you can still easily make friends by sharing a cocktail table while listening to the music, or maybe by sharing a picnic table while you get a bite to eat.

Everyone’s in a jolly and chatty mood— alcohol will do that to you! Jokes aside, the crowd is always friendly and open. There’s a great mix of people, and if you happen to go solo, it’s quite easy to strike up a conversation.

Whether you go on the first night or the second of the festival, the music is always good, and the crowd’s enthusiasm is always contagious. 

Unlike other events that center around drinks and spirits, the Manila Gin Festival is pure fun. While other similar events focus on either education or networking, competitions, or a combination of these, in contrast, this festival is a more laid-back event. It is set outdoors and starts at sunset, which makes it a perfect event to unwind and have some fun while discovering something new.
