Thailand to Host Asia’s First Tomorrowland Festival in 2026

In a landmark moment for Thailand’s entertainment and tourism sectors, the globally renowned electronic music festival Tomorrowland will make its Asian debut in Thailand in 2026, marking the first time the event will be held on the continent.

The announcement was officially confirmed by Thapanee Kiatphaibool, Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), following a high-level meeting in Bangkok between Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra and Tomorrowland CEO Bruno Vanwelsenaers, accompanied by senior executive Filip Teerlinck.

“Tomorrowland will be hosted in Thailand for the first time in 2026,” said Governor Thapanee.

The festival’s arrival is part of a broader strategic initiative, launched under the previous administration of Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin, to position Thailand as a premier global destination for world-class events.

“This is an opportunity to spotlight Thai artists, energise our music industry, and set a new standard for hosting global concerts in Thailand,” stated Prime Minister Paetongtarn. “It’s a turning point in our journey to becoming a true world event destination.”

The Thai government is committed to ensuring the festival reflects local identity and delivers broad-based benefits to the country. Plans are underway to integrate Thai cultural elements throughout the festival experience and encourage local participation, from artists and performers to businesses and creative industries.

In a statement shared on social media, the Prime Minister added: “Tomorrowland in Thailand is closer to reality,” underscoring the long-term vision for economic and creative growth. “This is not just about having fun. It is a new opportunity for Thailand to grow through new income sources, new creative industries, and new platforms for Thai artists.”

Originating in Belgium, Tomorrowland is one of the world’s largest electronic music festivals, known for its immersive stage designs, high-profile DJ lineups, and transformative atmosphere. The event draws hundreds of thousands of visitors annually and has proven to generate significant economic impact for its host locations.
