The Association of Indonesian Travel Agents (ASTINDO) West Java Chapter has successfully concluded the inaugural Indonesia Halal Travel Fair (IHTF) 2025, held from 2 to 5 October 2025 at Festival Citylink Mall, Bandung.
The four-day event marked a significant milestone in the advancement of Indonesia’s halal tourism sector and underscored West Java’s strategic role in supporting the nation’s broader Muslim-friendly travel initiatives.
The fair brought together 30 exhibitors, including travel agencies, airlines, hotels, and halal tourism operators, presenting a diverse range of Umrah, Hajj, and halal tourism packages. In addition to exclusive promotional offerings, the program featured halal lifestyle showcases, educational talk shows, and interactive public engagement activities, attracting strong participation from local and regional visitors.
During the official opening ceremony, Mr. Iendra Sofyan, Head of the West Java Provincial Tourism and Culture Office, emphasized the importance of such initiatives in building a robust halal tourism ecosystem. “Events like the Indonesia Halal Travel Fair strengthen West Java’s role as a key driver in Indonesia’s halal tourism development, particularly in alignment with the objectives of the 2025 Indonesia Muslim Travel Index (IMTI),” he stated.
As the ASEAN region’s largest Muslim-majority nation, Indonesia continues to play a pivotal role in shaping the halal travel market, contributing to more than 70 million Muslim traveller journeys across the region annually. The success of the IHTF 2025 reaffirms ASTINDO’s commitment to supporting this growth through collaboration, innovation, and sustainable tourism practices.
Following the strong response in Bandung, ASTINDO announced that the next Muslim-friendly travel fair will take place from 21 to 23 November 2025 at Kota Kasablanka Mall, Jakarta, focusing on both Umrah and leisure travel segments within the halal tourism sector.
