Savoy Hotel Mactan Newtown is ushering in a new chapter of growth with the appointment of a seasoned hospitality executive and the recognition of employees who have distinguished themselves through exceptional service and leadership.
The hotel recently appointed hospitality veteran Harry Dale Seno as its new Director of Operations. Bringing nearly three decades of experience, including leadership roles at Cebu City Marriott Hotel and Seda Ayala Center Cebu, Seno will oversee the hotel’s daily operations while strengthening its Sampaguita Brand of Service, which is centered on warm, sincere, and distinctly Filipino hospitality.
In addition to strengthening its leadership, Savoy Hotel Mactan Newtown celebrated several employees who received major awards in 2025 for their outstanding performance.
According to Tata Reyes, Area Director of People Management and Development for Megaworld Hotels and Resorts Mactan properties, these recognitions reflect the hotel’s strong culture of teamwork and excellence. She said the awardees continue to inspire others and help raise the standards of hospitality.
Joalyne Inot was named Titanium Ambassador of the Year, while Director of Sales and Marketing Grethel Polloso received three awards: Overall Sales Performer for Managed Hotels, Top Sales Performer for Savoy Hotel Mactan Newtown, and Sales and Marketing Leader of the Year. Area Marketing Communications Manager Maia Gomez was recognized as Marketing Manager of the Year, while her sustainability initiative, Adopt-a-Reef, was nominated for Marketing Campaign of the Year during the 2025 Cebu Tourism and Hospitality Awards.
Behind the scenes, Cost Control Supervisor Cresta Oba received the Heart of the House Employee Award at the 2025 Cebu Tourism and Hospitality Awards. The hotel's Food and Beverage team won a Gold Award during the Cebu Goes Culinary 2025. The team also received Silver Awards in Mocktail Mixing and Pantry Chef for Vegetable and Fruit Kinilaw, a Bronze Award in the Wedding Cake category, and diplomas for Creative Cake Decoration, bagoong-inspired dishes, and creative interpretations of Cebu's famous pungko-pungko.
Meanwhile, Human Resources Manager Hanna Tiongson was named HR Leader of the Year at the 28th Mabuhay Awards, while Savoy Hotel Mactan Newtown was recognized as a Great Place to Work for the third consecutive year.
Leading the hotel is General Manager Josef Victor Chiongbian, who was named General Manager of the Year in recognition of his visionary leadership and operational excellence.
